About this program
Operating out of Maine Maritime Academy, NROTC Maine Maritime Academy commissions midshipmen into the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps under Naval Service Training Command. The program traces its lineage on this campus to 1972.
NROTC Maine Maritime Academy runs as a host-only program; midshipmen contract directly through Maine Maritime Academy without a cross-town consortium. With roughly 12000+ undergraduates on campus, the unit pulls from a deep applicant pool inside a single school.
Funding paths into this unit include NROTC Navy Option (4-year) and NROTC Marine Option, with NROTC Nurse Option (where offered) also available. Maine Maritime Academy's academic strengths in nursing and health professions and business and political science give contracted midshipmen flexible major options on either side of the technical/non-technical line.
