About ROTCScholar

ROTCScholar is an independent directory and college-search tool. It is for students and families who want to learn about the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC). We combine data from the Army, Navy, and Air Force unit locators with federal college data from IPEDS, the College Scorecard, and the VA Yellow Ribbon program. The result is one place to see every host unit, cross-town partner, and scholarship in the country.

What we are not

We are not an ROTC unit. We do not run any ROTC program, and we cannot answer questions about one. If you want to visit a unit, ask about a scholarship, or join, contact the unit directly. Each program page lists the unit's own email, phone, or website when we have it. When we have the unit's email, the page also has a form. The form sends your message to that email. The unit, not ROTCScholar, decides if it replies.

We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense or any branch of the U.S. military. We do not copy text from .gov sites. We do not take paid placement from colleges. When we look at public community discussions, we only count trends. We never publish names or quotes.

What we cover

• About 485 host units: Army battalions, NROTC units, and AFROTC detachments
• About 1,500 colleges and universities
• About 2,800 cross-town affiliations
• Scholarship application windows, board cycles, and eligibility for each branch
• Views by state, branch, major, and military college

Where the data comes from

We load the data by hand and check each school against its federal IPEDS ID. Tuition and selectivity come from the College Scorecard. Photos are public-domain images from DVIDS. Unit details come from the public unit locators and the units' own websites. We work to keep the data current, but it can go out of date. Always check deadlines, eligibility, and unit details with the official source.
