Army ROTC at Providence College
Providence Battalion · Providence
Providence Battalion draws cadets from Providence College and surrounding Rhode Island campuses.

About this program
Based at Providence College, the Patriot Battalion (also listed here as the Providence Battalion) recruits, trains, and develops leaders of character to serve as commissioned officers in the U.S. Army, while encouraging cadets to become committed, service-minded citizens. The battalion is a true cross-town program of approximately 75 cadets drawn from five participating institutions: Providence College serves as the host, and cadets also come from Bryant University, Brown University, Rhode Island College, and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
Like Army ROTC nationwide, the program blends classroom coursework, leadership labs, physical training, and field training exercises so cadets learn firsthand what it takes to lead others, motivate groups, and conduct missions as an Army officer. Upon graduation, cadets earn the rank of Second Lieutenant and commission into the Active Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.
