About this program
Northwestern University's Naval ROTC unit is one of the six original NROTC units, founded in 1926, and it carries a long history of graduating well-rounded commissioned officers from one of the nation's most prestigious universities. The unit's purpose is to educate and train qualified young men and women for service as commissioned officers in the Navy's unrestricted line, the Navy Nurse Corps, and the Marine Corps.
The unit is composed of undergraduates from both Northwestern University and Loyola University Chicago. Students from both schools come to Northwestern's campus for naval science classes, leadership labs, and physical training, sharing in the same rigorous preparation.
Prospective students can apply for NROTC scholarships and schedule an officer interview to learn more about commissioning through the program.
