The Panther Battalion is Florida International University's Army ROTC program, built around a four-year elective curriculum in Army history, organization and structure, tactical operations, and the principles of leadership and management. Cadets layer challenging leadership labs, advanced training programs, and field exercises onto their normal FIU coursework, building a tight community alongside their studies. Enrollment is open to full-time FIU students, and those who complete the program earn a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve. Prospective students can sit in on an on-campus briefing, held weekdays at 12:30 p.m.
