Bulldog Battalion (Yale)

About this program

ROTC at Yale University gives undergraduates several paths to a military commission alongside a Yale education. In the fall of 2012, Air Force and Naval ROTC programs returned to Yale's campus, and both now offer courses and train on campus with a resident cadre of military personnel. Yale undergraduates who wish to pursue Army ROTC do so through the program at nearby University of New Haven.

For three centuries the university has educated students who went on to leadership in virtually every field, and these ROTC programs continue that tradition while offering a way to help finance a Yale education and prepare for military service. Scholarships and financial aid offered through ROTC are awarded exclusively on merit, which can make them especially valuable to students who are not eligible for need-based financial aid.

Yale students have historically been very successful in gaining entry into these competitive programs, and the university works to ensure ROTC participants can still take full advantage of the resources and opportunities a Yale education offers.
