Tiger Battalion (Mizzou)

About this program

The Tiger Battalion at the University of Missouri is the university's Army ROTC program, centered on leadership development in both the classroom and the field. Any student interested in building leadership skills in a challenging environment can benefit, and cadets who choose to serve commission as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard upon completing the program and graduating.

The program is home to one of Mizzou's oldest traditions: the Cannon Crew, which dates to 1895, when—following a football game against the Nebraska Bugeaters in Omaha—Missouri cadets fired off their cannon for the first time. The Tiger Battalion frames ROTC as demanding but richly rewarding, preparing cadets to succeed whether they pursue a military career or civilian life while giving them confidence built on practical, demonstrated leadership.
