About this program

The Wildcat Battalion is Kansas State University's Army ROTC program, part of the Department of Military Science, and it traces its heritage of commissioning leaders of character for the nation's Army back to 1863 — the year the land-grant university was founded. That long lineage sits at the center of the program's identity.

Army ROTC at K-State lets students take Military Science courses alongside their regular studies while building leadership, discipline, and tactical skills that transfer to any career. Freshmen and sophomores can enroll with no obligation to the Army, giving students a low-risk way to try the program before committing. Cadets can also compete for merit-based scholarships that can cover the full cost of tuition, and the program welcomes high-school students, current college students, and serving soldiers looking to become U.S. Army officers.
