About this program

The Ram Battalion is the Army ROTC program at Colorado State University, where military instruction has been part of campus life since 1884. Army ROTC formally arrived in 1916, and the university marked a century of the program in 2016 — a milestone that coincided with 70 years of Air Force ROTC on campus. Over that history the program grew from an early makeshift drill team into a nationally and regionally recognized officer-commissioning battalion.

Set in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, CSU offers one of the more scenic training environments in the country. Recent cadet accomplishments reflect an active program: a new class of second lieutenants commissioned, roughly two dozen cadets heading to Advanced Camp, and cadets selected for Air Assault School and Cadet Troop Leader Training across the United States. Cadets pursue their Army training alongside a full degree, competing for scholarships as they progress toward a commission.
